Georgian Orthodox Church commemorates Holy Friday

On May 3, the Georgian Orthodox Church (GOC) marks Holy Friday, also known as Red Friday, a day when Orthodox Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
The crucifixion ritual of Jesus Christ’s body will be performed in churches.
This day is the hardest of Holy Week, during which no services are held at temples as a sign of respect for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to save mankind.
The parishioners dye eggs in red and bake Paska, a special Easter bread.
