Georgian Orthodox Church celebrates feast of Ninooba today

Today, on January 27, the Georgian Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of Ninooba, dedicated to the country's Christian patron Saint, Saint Nino. In connection with the holiday, a festive service will be held in the churches.
The holy service was held by Reverend Shio, the Incumbent of the Patriarchal Throne, together with the clergy, in the Sioni Cathedral of the Dormition.
According to church tradition, St. Nino arrived in Georgia in the 4th century, during the reign of King Mirian. The declaration of Christianity as the state religion is connected with St. Nino. Ninooba is celebrated twice, on June 1st and January 27th.
