The Georgian Orthodox Church (GOC) has released details about the events scheduled for Family Purity Day, which will be observed on May 17.
According to the official statement, a church service will be held at Kashueti Church at 2 p.m., followed by a solemn prayer procession to the Holy Trinity (Sameba) Cathedral.
The GOC noted that church leaders have received the blessing of Patriarchal Locum Tenens Shio Mujiri to participate in the procession alongside their parishioners.
Family Purity Day was established in 2014 by His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, as a day to uphold and celebrate traditional family values.
