
As part of the Spring Meetings of the IMF and World Bank in Washington, D.C., Natia Turnava, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, and Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili met with IMF Executive Director Jeroen Clicq and Alternate Executive Director Marnix van Rij, the National Bank reported.
The meeting included Vice Governors Ekaterine Mikabadze and Ekaterine Galdava, along with Deputy Ministers from the Finance and Economy ministries.
Discussions focused on Georgia’s robust macroeconomic performance, emphasizing the National Bank’s disciplined monetary policy, its impact on price stability, and the strength of the financial system. The parties also reviewed ongoing global economic challenges and potential risks.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation, with the IMF Mission’s upcoming visit to Georgia highlighted as the next step. Executive Director Clicq expressed his enthusiasm about the visit, underscoring the strength of the partnership.
