
Georgian nuts are no longer among the top ten export goods of Georgia - during the 9 months of 2023, 11.1 thousand tons of nuts worth $52.3 million were exported from Georgia, which is $7.6 million, or 13% less compared to the figure recorded in the previous year.
The decrease is noticeable in all the main markets where Georgian nuts are exported, including 28% to Italy, 50% - to Germany, and 14% - to Spain.
According to the countries, the export of nuts is distributed as follows (2023, 9 months):
1) Italy - $10.2 million, 2,617 tons, a 28%-decrease compared to the previous year
2) Germany - $2.6 million, 1,357 tons, a 50%-decrease compared to the previous year
3) Turkey - $3.4 million, 1,089 tons, a 242%-increase compared to the previous year
4) Spain - $3.7 million, 702 tons, a 14%-decrease compared to the previous year
5) Armenia - $4.0 million, 719 tons, a 54%-decrease compared to the previous year
