The Agency for Protected Areas, representing the National Parks of Georgia, took part in the Hong Kong International Travel Expo to promote the country's ecotourism and adventure destinations to an international audience.
At the expo, the Agency highlighted Georgia’s diverse protected areas, rich biodiversity, and outdoor tourism potential through engaging visual and textual displays. Visitors were also able to experience Georgia’s natural landscapes virtually using VR headsets, offering an immersive introduction to the country’s national parks.
As part of its efforts to boost international awareness, the Agency delivered a detailed presentation on Georgia’s protected areas, aiming to attract new tourist segments and increase inbound visitor flows.
The initiative appears timely—according to the Agency, the number of visitors from China to Georgia’s protected areas tripled in the first five months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, signaling growing interest from the Chinese tourism market.
