Under legislation initiated and adopted by the Georgian Dream party, the salaries of high-ranking officials and Members of Parliament (MPs) will increase starting January 1, 2025.
The Georgian Parliament approved the draft law on salary increases for state and political officials on March 7, 2024, with 77 votes in favor. According to the law, which will come into effect on January 1, 2025, the salaries of high-ranking officials will be calculated by multiplying the relevant coefficient assigned to their positions by the basic salary established in the civil service.
Based on these coefficients, as of January 1, 2025, the salaries of the Prime Minister and President of Georgia will be set at 13,300 GEL, while ministers, heads of autonomous republic governments, and chairpersons of the Supreme Council will receive 11,305 GEL.
The financial implications of these adjustments have already been accounted for in the 2025 draft state budget. Specifically, the total allocation for MPs’ salaries will increase by 10 million GEL, rising from 43.9 million GEL in 2024 to 53.9 million GEL in 2025.
