Georgian Ministry of Culture announces competition for selection of exhibition project to be presented to Georgian National Pavilion at Venice Biennale

“The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia is announcing a competition to select an exhibition project to be presented to the Georgian National Pavilion at the 59th Venice International Biennale of Contemporary Art,” - the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia reports.

At the briefing held at the Ministry of Culture, Minister Tea Tsulukiani spoke about the conditions and terms of the competition.

In order to arrange the Georgian National Pavilion, the Ministry of Culture has selected an exhibition space on the island of Giudecca, in Venice (132 sq.m., address: Fondamenta S. Biagio, 800/o, 30133 Venezia VE, Italy). The Venice International Exhibition will open on April 23, 2022 and will last till November 27, 2022. The curator of the 59th Biennale is Cecilia Aleman, while the theme and title of the international exhibition is "The Milk of Dreams".

Artists and art critics from Georgia up to 30 years old will take part in the competition. Its duration will be one month and the participants selected will be announced in January 2022.
