At the meeting held at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, the projects supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Georgia in such areas as: modernization of the energy sector, development of municipal infrastructure and private sector, promotion of regional and global integration of the country were discussed.
The Ministers briefed the EBRD Managing Directors and Regional Directors on the current state of the economy and the reform agenda planned by the government. The parties also focused on issues of future cooperation.
The meeting participants expressed readiness to continue fruitful cooperation between Georgia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, especially in the post-pandemic period.
Georgia joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in 1992. EBRD is one of the largest financiers of investment projects in Georgia; as of today, the bank has invested over 4 billion euros in more than 250 projects, including 87% - in the private sector, in the country.
