Ilia Sulamanidze (100 kg) defeated reigning Olympic champion Aaron Wolf from Japan in the quarter-finals.

This victory advances him to the semi-finals, where he will compete against Swiss judoka Eich Daniel for a place in the finals. The final block of the competition will commence at 6 pm.

So far, the Georgian judo team has earned two medals: Lasha Bekauri (90 kg) secured the gold, and Tato Grigalashvili (81 kg) won the silver.
