“The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Irakli Karseladze, met with the Deputy Director General of the Asian Development Bank, Nianshan Zhang,” - the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia reports.
Reportedly, the meeting was also attended by Giorgi Tsereteli, the Chairman of the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, and Shane Rosenthal, the Regional Director of the Asian Development Bank in Georgia.
At the meeting, the parties talked about the completed, ongoing and planned infrastructure projects in Georgia with the support of the Asian Development Bank. Irakli Karseladze thanked Nianshan Zhang for the long-term and important participation of the Asian Development Bank in the development of the infrastructure of Georgia. The Minister briefed the guests on the progress of the ongoing projects. He spoke about the construction of the Rikoti Pass Road, the 9-km tunnel and access road of Kvesheti-Kobi, water supply systems and kindergartens in various regions, the construction of the Kutaisi Olympic pool and the Rustavi sports complex, the urban renewal of the central part of Velistsikhe, and other projects.
Nianshan Zhang emphasized and positively evaluated the results of the projects and expressed his willingness to further strengthen the existing fruitful cooperation. With the support of the Asian Development Bank, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia is implementing infrastructure projects worth up to GEL 2 billion in different regions of the country. The projects include both urban renewal and construction and rehabilitation of highways, water supply systems, sports complexes and other municipal infrastructure.
