In January-March 2022, Georgian honey exports increased by 103%. According to Geostat, 50.11 tons of honey (worth of 171.1 thousand dollars) were exported from the country within the first three months of this year, while 24.69 tons of products (worth of 73.62 thousand dollars) were exported in the same period last year.
The list of the Top-3 countries, where Georgia has sold natural honey this year, is as follows:
Bulgaria - 45.03 tons (136 thousand dollars)
The United Arab Emirates - 1.87 tons (15.9 thousand dollars)
Israel - 1.78 tons (9.83 thousand dollars)
In addition, a small amount of honey was exported this year to the following countries - Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia.
As for 2021, a record amount of honey was exported from Georgia last year - 172.9 tons of honey (worth of 657.3 thousand dollars) were exported to 19 countries.
