Georgian honey export increased by 85.5% - where do we sell honey

In January-May 2022, the export of the Georgian honey increased by 85.5%. According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia-GEOSTAT, 90.24 tons of honey (worth 340.4 thousand dollars) were exported from the country within 5 months this year, while in the same period last year, 48.63 tons of honey (worth 151.9 thousand dollars) were exported.

The list of the Top-3 countries, where Georgia sold natural honey this year, is as follows:

Bulgaria - 67.42 tons (worth $ 195.1 thousand)
France - 14.40 tons (worth $ 80.94 thousand)
Israel - 3.57 tons (worth $ 19.66 thousand)

In addition, a small amount of honey was exported this year to the following countries – the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia.

As for 2021, a record volume of honey was exported from Georgia last year - 172.9 tons of honey (worth 657.3 thousand dollars) was sent to 19 countries.
