According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center for Disease Control, 147 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the laboratory in Georgia, although, in reality, the rate of infection with this strain may be four times higher.

Triple vaccination will seriously protect us from the Omicron variant. It is also important to wear a facemask in all spaces, to keep social distance and avoid gathering. In December, when the first case was reported, out of all the suspicious cases, "Omicron" revealed in 2-3 cases, while within the last week of December, this figure became 50%. So, the infection growth rate is quite serious and we think it will already be the dominant strain in about 2-3 weeks.
