The Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze discussed ongoing joint healthcare projects and future collaboration during a meeting with Kayla Laserson, the director of the Global Health Centre at the United States Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Ministry said the meeting was held as part of Sarjveladze’s official visit to Geneva, Switzerland, to join and deliver an address at the 77th session of the World Health Organisation's annual Assembly.
Scheduled to run from Monday to Saturday with the participation of ministers of health and other high-level officials, the Assembly serves as a platform for addressing existing global health challenges, the WHO said.
The Ministry said Sarjveladze would also meet with Hans Kluge, the WHO’s Regional director for Europe.
