The meeting was attended by Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili and the pharma-business representatives. Zurab Azarashvili listened to the plan regarding medicinal products’ transition to the GMP standard and promised to support the representatives of pharmaceutical companies to meet the quality standards. Local producers have a commitment to switch to the GMP standard by the end of 2022. The Minister stressed that work on legislative changes is underway, according to which, import companies will have to meet the new standard, which will provide equal conditions to local producers and importers," - the Ministry said. 

Zviad Chumburidze, Secretary General of the EU-Georgia Business Council, Tamar Gabunia, First Deputy Minister of Health, Giorgi Cherkezishvili, Head of the Secretariat of the Investors' Council, Zaal Kapanadze, Head of the Regulation Agency for Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities, representatives of pharmaceutical companies and associations attended the meeting.
