Georgian government to impose export tax on sugar imports

The government of Georgia plans to impose an export tax on sugar. According to the government's decree, it plans to impose an export tax on the product GEL 400 on the product of a tonne.
The decree adopted by the government on November 10, will come into force on November 20 and will be in effect until July 1, 2024.
Exceptions are the cases of using the preferential origin certificate EUR.1 issued for sugar or tax relief based on the declaration of origin.
In addition, the effect of the resolution does not apply to the sugar, which has been transported by the sea before the publication of this resolution.
