
The Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili announced that the Georgian Government was working intensively to increase additional transit flows from Kazakhstan through Georgia via the Middle Corridor transportation lane.
Levan Davitashvili said Government representatives had already held high-level meetings with authorities in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to discuss the question issue, while a transport sector ministerial, scheduled to open on Tuesday in Tbilisi, was also part of the working process.
The Minister revealed his counterparts from Türkiye and Azerbaijan would take part in the event that will discuss issues related to the increase of competitiveness of the Middle Corridor - a multilateral institutional development linking the containerized rail freight transport networks of the China and the European Union and officially known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
