The Georgian government will award GEL 3 million to the national basketball team for reaching the EuroBasket 2025 quarterfinals, marking the country’s first time among Europe’s top eight teams.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced the bonus during a government session, calling the achievement a "historic day" for Georgia. He also revealed that an additional GEL 3 million will be granted for each future victory in the tournament or other European championships.

Kobakhidze praised the players, coaching staff, and Basketball Federation for their dedication and expressed confidence in the team’s continued success. He also congratulated the national football team on their recent win and wished them luck in upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
