
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Walid Abu Haya, the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Israel to Georgia.
During the meeting, Minister Botchorishvili congratulated Ambassador Abu Haya on his new role and expressed her best wishes for a successful tenure. The Ambassador, in turn, delivered an official invitation from the Israeli Foreign Minister.
The discussion focused on the strong partnership between Georgia and Israel, with both sides identifying key areas for future collaboration and emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties across various sectors.
The two officials also reaffirmed their shared commitment to continued cooperation within international organizations and multilateral platforms.
Minister Botchorishvili welcomed the recent agreement between Israel and Hamas on the initial phase of a peace plan for Gaza. She acknowledged the significant diplomatic efforts led by the United States and former President Donald Trump in promoting peace in the region. The Minister reiterated Georgia’s support for a peaceful resolution to the conflict and the safe release of hostages.
