Georgia stands at the crossroads of rapidly unfolding regional developments, underscoring the vital importance of a pragmatic, nationally focused diplomatic service, Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said.
She stressed that clearly and accurately communicating Georgia’s actions and positions to the international community remains a key priority.
Botchorishvili noted that the Conference of Georgian Ambassadors has concluded, describing it as a valuable platform to review the past year, evaluate the evolving geopolitical landscape, and outline priorities for the diplomatic service in 2026. With the region remaining unpredictable, she emphasized that diplomats play a crucial role in safeguarding Georgia’s national interests.
Despite limited resources, Botchorishvili said the Georgian diplomatic service has demonstrated resilience and effectiveness in representing the country internationally. She added that, given the geopolitical and domestic challenges of the past year, Georgia’s ability to preserve peace, maintain stable economic growth, and sustain active engagement with international partners shows that 2025 was a successful year.
Georgia, she concluded, remains open to cooperation with all partners willing to engage, while consistently defending its national interests in line with the country’s priorities.
