
“The Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili considered the prospects for upgrading political and economic ties in meetings with Singaporean, Greek, United Arab Emirates, and Solomon Islands’ counterparts on the sidelines of the United Nations general assembly on Tuesday,” - the Foreign Ministry of Georgia declared.
Discussing the moves to further develop economic cooperation with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Darchiashvili said the two countries enjoyed similar economic development policies and stressed great potential for further development of ties.
Appreciating the successful cooperation between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Darchiashvili pledged to take actions for ensuring closer trade and economic cooperation.
At the meeting with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias, the Minister noted the friendly relations and close cooperation between their states and thanked the latter for his country's strong support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
While meeting with Jeremiah Manele, his counterpart from Solomon Islands, the Georgian minister focused on the “successful cooperation” between Georgia and countries of the Pacific basin, as well as the country’s “active involvement” in formats of Pacific Islands regional organisations.
The two Ministers emphasised the possibility of developing education and public service cooperation, and noted the importance of intensifying state-to-state communication.
