
The Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili discussed his Government’s strengthening cooperation with the United Kingdom in his introductory meeting with David Lammy, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the UK, as part of a Georgian Government delegation participation in the European Political Community Summit.
Darchiashvili congratulated his British counterpart on his appointment following the recent elections in the UK, the Georgian foreign office said.
The ministers expressed their readiness to further strengthen the close relations between the two countries and reviewed the Wardrop Strategic Dialogue format between them.
Darchiashvili also thanked Lamyy for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as the country's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
The parties emphasized the need to ensure peace and stability in the world in the backdrop of existing challenges.
