
Within the framework of the visit to Hungary, the Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili met with the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Hungary, Mihály Varga.
The parties talked about issues of bilateral cooperation. The Minister of Finance informed his colleague about the current macroeconomic situation in the country and the ongoing economic and structural reforms.
The importance of the strategic cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy was emphasized. In particular, the conversation touched on the historic project of the Black Sea underwater electric cable connecting the Caucasus region and Europe, which ensures the increase of connectivity with the European Union and the strengthening of the region's energy security.
Support for Georgia's European aspiration was once again confirmed at the meeting.
