“The issues of cooperation between the World Bank and Georgia were discussed by the Minister of Finance of Georgia, Lasha Khutsishvili, and the World Bank Group Executive Director, Koen Davidse, at the meeting held in the United States of America. The annual meeting was organized by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank,” - the Ministry of Finance of Georgia reports.
The Minister of Finance thanked the Executive Director of the World Bank for the productive cooperation between Georgia and the World Bank.
"As Lasha Khutsishvili said, during the three decades of partnership, the World Bank played an important role in the development, growth and modernization of the Georgian economy.
It was noted that another important stage of the partnership was the accession of Georgia to the International Development Association (IDA) as a donor country.
At the meeting, they reviewed the current macroeconomic parameters and reforms planned in the country in the medium term and the progress of infrastructure projects of international importance. Also, the conversation touched upon the challenges faced by the world and especially the region due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
At the end of the meeting, the parties once again emphasized the importance of ongoing projects supported by the World Bank for the sustainable development of the country.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Ministers: Giorgi Kakauridze, Ekaterine Guntsadze, Mirza Gelashvili and Acting President of the National Bank, Archil Mestvirishvili", - the statement reads.
