
The representatives of the International Monetary Fund Assessment Mission started working in Georgia. The Mission Head, James John, and the members of the Mission held the first meeting with the Minister of Finance of Georgia, Lasha Khutsishvili.
The parties reviewed the current economic situation in the country, as well as macroeconomic parameters and forecasts for 2023.
The arrival of the IMF Mission officials in Tbilisi was preceded by the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, where the Georgian side held negotiations with the leadership of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
As mentioned at the meeting, despite the challenges, the economy of Georgia is growing at a high rate this year. In addition, the importance of continuing prudent macroeconomic policy was emphasized.
The conversation touched upon the progress of the reforms envisaged by the program of the International Monetary Fund and the recommendations of the IMF in this direction.
