
“The Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili, held an introductory meeting with the Regional Manager of the International Finance Corporation for the South Caucasus Ivana Fernandes Duarte. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Finance Minister Ekaterine Guntsadze,” - the Ministry of Finance of Georgia reports.
The parties praised the cooperation between Georgia and the International Finance Corporation and reviewed the ongoing IFC-funded projects in the country - in the fields of finance, agriculture, energy, healthcare, infrastructure and manufacturing.
In particular, the role of the International Finance Corporation in the development of the private sector was emphasized.
The meeting reviewed the current macroeconomic parameters of the country, the trends of economic recovery, especially in the light of the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine as a result of the Russian aggression.
It was noted that despite the pandemic, the country had been able to maintain its reform agenda and this process would continue.
The Finance Minister wished the new Regional Manager of the International Finance Corporation success in his work and expressed hope that the cooperation between the parties would develop in a positive direction.
The International Finance Corporation is a member of the World Bank Group and one of the largest international development-oriented institutions. The International Finance Corporation contributes to the development of the private sector in Georgia through investments and consulting services.
