
The Minister of Finance of Georgia Lasha Khutsishvili and ADB Vice President Shixin Chen spoke about the issues of cooperation between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The meeting took place in the United States of America, within the framework of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, and was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Finance of Georgia Mirza Gelashvili and Ekaterine Guntsadze.
The conversation touched on the progress of the projects supported by the Asian Development Bank, both in the public and private sectors, also, the current situation in the Georgian economy, the current and planned fiscal parameters in 2023. Attention was paid to the structural reforms that the Georgian government in planning to implement in the medium term.
Among the challenges of the country, as well as for the whole world, inflation and increased prices for energy resources and oil were named. As mentioned, the ADB member countries should be alert to these risks and take necessary steps to contain inflation without hampering the economic growth.
The Minister of Finance of Georgia and the President of the Asian Development Bank expressed hope that the partnership will continue in the direction of implementing both structural and economic reforms.
