
“The Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili met with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Regional Director, Shane Rosenthal, the Director of the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department Safeguards Division, Bruce Dunn and representatives of the bank,” - the Ministry of Finance of Georgia reports.
According to the Ministry, the parties discussed the issues of bilateral and regional cooperation between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank.
Reportedly, the ADB intends to update the 2009 Security Policy Statement. The revised security policy will be aligned with the ADB's 2030 strategy and plans for its operational priorities.
The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the updated policy approaches and directions to stakeholders so that all Bank member countries can participate more effectively in the review process.
The security policy statement covers such topics as: assessment and management of environmental and social risks and impacts, labor and working conditions, pollution prevention and resource efficiency, health and safety, biodiversity and sustainable management of natural resources, cultural heritage and others. As mentioned at the meeting, Georgia is ready for active cooperation and reconciliation of positions in all these directions.
