
The Minister of Finance of Georgia, Lasha Khutsishvili, met with the Deputy Director General of the Asian Development Bank, Nianshan Zhang.
The Deputy Minister of Finance Ekaterine Guntsadze and the Regional Director of the Asian Development Bank in Georgia, Shane Rosenthal, attended the meeting. The conversation touched on the progress of the Bank-supported projects ongoing in the public and private sector in Georgia, the value of which is approximately 4 billion US dollars as of today.
The Finance Minister briefed the guest on the measures taken by the Georgian government to accelerate the economic growth after the pandemic crisis and once again thanked the Asian Development Bank for its assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Attention was focused on the macroeconomic parameters of 2022-2023, the planned reforms in the country, as well as the challenges and risks that exist in the region due to the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine.
As Lasha Khutsishvili noted, Georgia appreciates the efforts of the Asian Development Bank to strengthen the country's priority areas.
According to him, the bank officials’ decision to allow Georgia to host the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in 2024 is a recognition of this support and progress achieved by the country.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen the existing fruitful cooperation.
