,,Georgia will present Rusudan Glurjidze's film The Antique as a competition film at the 2024 Oscars,” - the National Film Center of Georgia reported.
,,On September 12, the winning film was selected on the basis of secret ballot by the members of the special commission organized by the Film Center. The votes were distributed as follows: four members of the jury voted for Dea Kulumbegashvili's film April, and five votes were given to the winner of the competition - Rusudan Glurjidze's film. Other competition works did not receive votes.
The special commission that selected the Georgian film to be presented at the Oscars was staffed by the individual administrative and legal act of the director of the National Film Center of Georgia and included: Zaza Shatirishvili (cultural critic), Vladimer Kacharava (producer), Edmond Minashvili (producer), Levan Gigineishvili (philosopher), Nikoloz Shengelaia (cinematographer), Khatuna Khundadze (producer), Giorgi Chumburidze (director), Bachana Odisharia (Head of Film Production Department of the Film Center) and Giorgi Tskhvediani (junior specialist of the Film Export Department of the Film Center).
To be informed, Rusudan Glurjidze's film was screened at the Venice Film Festival on September 6.
