The body of Rati Shurghaia, who died in Ukraine, has been brought to his homeland at dawn today. A 38-year-old Georgian fighter was killed in the battle ongoing outside the northeastern city of Izyum. As a result of dropping cluster bombs by the Russian occupiers, he received severe wounds to the head and chest.
Rati Shurghaia was originally from Senaki [located in Samegrelo region in West Georgia]. He has a Ukrainian wife. Shurghaia had been fighting on the front line from the very first day of the war. In Ukraine, hundreds of Georgians are fighting against the Russian occupiers, out of which more than 10 have already been killed as a result of the Russian attacks.
