Georgian external trade increased by 22.1% in January-March 2023

“Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $4.78 billion in January-March 2023, posting a 22.1 percent increase year-on-year,” - the Georgian National Statistics Office announced.
The value of exports rose by 24.7 percent and equaled $1.46 billion, while imports also grew by 21 percent, amounting to $3.32 billion in the first three months of 2023.
Trade deficit, a measure of the negative balance of trade in which imports exceed exports, reached $1.86 billion, and the share of trade turnover hit 38.9 percent.
