Eter Liparteliani has made history by becoming the first Georgian woman to win a World Judo Championship title. Competing in the 57kg weight class, the 25-year-old judoka secured a decisive victory against Japan’s Momo Tamaoki in the final, winning by ippon in Budapest, Hungary.

Liparteliani's triumph marks a significant milestone for Georgian judo on the world stage. Meanwhile, fellow Georgian competitors Lasha Shavdatuashvili (73kg) and Nino Loladze (57kg) were eliminated in the early rounds of the tournament.
