
The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Giorgi Amilakhvari is paying an official visit to Hungary.
Within the framework of the visit, Giorgi Amilakhvari held a working meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Hungary, Sándor Pintér, who heads the direction of general education in Hungary.
Giorgi Amilakhvari thanked Sándor Pintér for his unwavering support of Georgia on the road towards European integration and emphasized the importance of the long-term close and fruitful partnership between the two countries.
The parties discussed in detail the ongoing reforms in the field of general education of both countries.
Giorgi Amilakhvari informed his colleague about the steps taken in the field of general education development in Georgia and large-scale infrastructural projects, including the construction and rehabilitation project of 800 schools started under the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili.
On his part, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Hungary briefed Giorgi Amilakhvari on the best practices in Hungary in the direction of professional development of teachers, national curriculum, improvement of textbooks and digitization.
Sándor Pintér expressed readiness for close cooperation and support for the general education system of Georgia.
The parties agreed to start working on a cooperation agreement between the two countries in the field of general education, which will be signed during the official visit of the Hungarian Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers to Tbilisi.
