The Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili underscored the importance of a new project by Hunnewell Cement, a subsidiary of a leading cement manufacturer HeidelbergCement Georgia, which aims to use tyre waste as an alternative fuel, for marking a “crucial step both economically and environmentally”.
Speaking at a project presentation event at the Kaspi cement plant in the country’s east, Davitashvili thanked investors for implementing such important projects and for their outstanding responsibility towards the country and its economy.
"I am confident this enterprise will be important for the region in terms of employment. The company’s plans are encouraging, and they aim to become even more sustainable in the future, including in terms of environmental protection. Hunnewell Cement is important as both an enterprise and critical infrastructure, directly related to the development of many other fields”, Davitashvili said.
