
“The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili met with the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan Begench Gochmollayev,” - the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia reports.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze, and the Ambassador of Georgia to Turkmenistan, Konstantine Sabiashvili.
"The Ministers discussed bilateral economic relations, emphasized the development of such priority areas as bilateral trade, transport, energy, information technologies, connectivity, tourism, etc.
At the meeting, the format of the intergovernmental economic commission for deepening cooperation between Georgia and Turkmenistan was positively evaluated; the next session will be held in Tbilisi on June 6.
The importance of the development of relations between the business circles of the two countries as well as the importance of making investments from Turkmenistan in Georgia was emphasized.
Special emphasis was placed on cooperation in the fields of transport and railways. Attention was paid to the importance of attracting goods from Turkmenistan in the transport corridor passing through Georgia. The deepening of cooperation in the field of tourism was also positively discussed", - the Ministry noted.
