
The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili met with the new Regional Director of the World Bank Rolande Pryce.
The acting Regional Director of the World Bank Sebastian Molyneux and the Deputy Economy Minister Vakhtang Tsintsadze also participated in the meeting.
The Economy Minister congratulated Rolande Pryce on his appointment as the regional director of the World Bank and wished him fruitful work. He also thanked Sebastian Molyneux for his work and successful cooperation.
At the meeting, the partnership between Georgia and the World Bank was positively evaluated, as a result of which important structural reforms were implemented in the country in such important directions as: improving the competitiveness of the private sector, arranging infrastructure, promoting small and medium enterprises, developing the innovative ecosystem, transport, energy, corporatization of state enterprises, etc,. At the same time, priority areas of current and future cooperation were emphasized.
Rolande Pryce will officially begin his duties as World Bank Regional Director on September 1, and Sebastian Molyneux will complete his four-year tenure in this position in late June.
