Georgian Economy Minister, Natia Turnava, replaced by Agriculture Minister, Levan Davitashvili

Environmental Protection and Agriculture Minister, Levan Davitashvili, will replace the Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava, Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, announced a Cabinet reshuffle today.

“Levan Davitashvili is an economist with a quality education. “I believe he will be a successful Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development,” - Irakli Gharibashvili said.

Levan Davitashvili has served as Agriculture Minister since 2017. He has also been serving as the Deputy Prime Minister since July 2021.

Otar Shamugia, Deputy Agriculture Minister, will take on Davitashvili’s post.

“With many years of experience, Otar Shamugia knows in detail what this field needs,” Irakli Gharibashvili stated.

Shamugia has served as the Deputy Environmental Protection and Agriculture Minister since December 2020.
