
On World Tourism Day, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, congratulated all representatives and supporters of the tourism industry, thanking them for their role in promoting the country and strengthening its economy.
She emphasized that tourism remains a key priority in Georgia’s economic policy, noting its rapid growth over the past decade, job creation potential, and contribution to attracting investments.
Kvrivishvili highlighted ongoing efforts to diversify tourism markets, with a focus on Europe, the Persian Gulf, and Asia, supported by marketing campaigns and international partnerships. She also pointed to record-breaking achievements, including $4.4 billion in tourism revenue and over 70 airlines operating 120 direct routes from Georgia’s international airports.
The Minister expressed confidence in the continued success of the sector through sustainable, customer-oriented policies, and praised the professionalism of industry workers for elevating Georgia’s global appeal as a tourist destination.
