As the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reports, Mikheil Khidureli, Director of the "Enterprise Georgia" Agency, also participated in the meeting.
Priority directions of economic cooperation between Georgia and Japan were discussed at the meeting. It was noted that starting from the summer of 2021, the countries will have an agreement on mutual protection of investments, which will create a strong framework not only to protect investment assets in Japan and Georgia, but also encourage businesses to invest in foreign countries.
"We are open for cooperation with Japanese business circles. In 1996-2021, more than $ 200 million worth of investments were carried out by the Japanese side in Georgia, but the implementation of the Agreement on Mutual Protection of Investment, I think, will significantly increase this figure in the near future,"- said Natia Turnava.
At the meeting, the parties discussed potential investment projects in such sectors as energy, transport and logistics, industry, agriculture and others.
