The issues of deepening the long-term partnership and the trade and economic relations between Georgia and Austria were discussed by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili and Economic Advisor of the Federal Chancellor Georg Adler, at a meeting held in the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. The meeting was also attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Austria Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the Deputy Economy Minister Gennadi Arveladze and the Head of the Trade Development and International Economic Relations Department of the Ministry Givi Zedelashvili. Georg Adler was in Georgia as part of the visit of the Federal Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer.
As it was mentioned at the meeting, cooperation between the two countries is developing very dynamically in various directions, including tourism, agriculture, energy, environmental protection, logistics, food industry and other fields. It is important that 2022 marked an important date in the history of bilateral relations - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Austria.
Levan Davitashvili thanked Georg Adler for Austria's unwavering support in terms of Georgia's European aspirations and European choices. The Minister said the Austrian government and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) had made a special contribution to the development of various branches of the Georgian economy.
The parties also talked about the successful activities of Austrian companies in Georgia, important investment projects and discussed the potential that exists in terms of cooperation between the business circles of the two countries, including renewable energy, tourism, real estate, production, logistics and other fields.
