The meeting was also attended by Deputy Economy Minister, Romeo Mikautadze, and Director of the Georgian Energy Development Fund, Giorgi Chikovani.
It was noted at the meeting that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is one of the major financial supporters of the Georgian energy sector. The focus was on the current and future projects, as well as on the challenges of electricity market liberalization and ways to address them.
Particular attention was paid to the projects in the field of hydro, solar and wind energy. The EBRD Representative expressed interest in continuing to support Georgia in developing the renewable energy.
The meeting also highlighted the global trends in the field of decarbonisation and underlined the important role of Georgia in the region.
