Georgian domestic exports increased by 26% in January-August 2021

"Georgia exported locally produced goods worth $2.61 billion in January-August 2021, which is 26% higher year-on-year," - the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reports.

"The share of domestic exports - export of locally produced goods and services, including those of foreign origin that have been substantially changed through local processing - in total exports constituted 72.7% and amounted to $1.89 billion, 28.7% higher to the same period of 2020"," Geostat declared.

The top trading partners were: China ($400.1 million); Russia ($344.1 million); Turkey ($200.8 million).

In January-August 2021 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling $517.9 million, or 27.3% of total exports.

The exports of ferroalloys totaled $265.5 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 14%. The exports of wine of fresh grapes occupied the third place standing at $143.7 million and constituting 7.6% of the total exports.
