Alexander Khvtisiashvili, the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, emphasized the "historic friendship" and "growing cooperation" between Georgia and China during a meeting with Ding Yuan, General Manager of Air China's Georgian office, according to the Ministry.
The Deputy Minister praised China’s decision to launch direct flights between the two countries, highlighting their significance for both tourism development and strengthening bilateral relations.
Ding Yuan explained that Air China had decided to introduce direct flights between Tbilisi and Ürümqi following a comprehensive evaluation and confirmed that direct flights between the capitals of the two countries were planned to begin next year.
The Ministry also noted that the meeting included discussions on strategies to raise awareness of Georgia in China in order to boost tourist arrivals.
