,,The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Guram Guramishvili took part in the Ministerial Meeting on Transport Union, which was held in North Macedonia,"- the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia reports.
At the meeting, the European Commission emphasized the fact of active involvement of Georgia as an observer country in the structures and events of the transport union.
As the Deputy Minister pointed out, Georgia stands unwaveringly on the path of European integration, which is evidenced by the important reforms and measures that the country is implementing. According to him, most of the obligations taken under the association agreement in the field of transport have already been fulfilled and active work is underway to implement the remaining regulations and directives.
The Deputy Minister also spoke about the large infrastructural projects underway in Georgia, which will contribute to the improvement of the transport infrastructure and the full integration of Georgia into the trans-European transport network.
It has been a year since Georgia joined the Transport Union as an observer along with Moldova and Ukraine. The union unites the countries of the European Union and the Western Balkans, the purpose of which is to promote the legal rapprochement of the participating parties with the European Union in the field of transport and the integration into the European markets", - the Ministry notes.
