The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Guram Guramishvili took part in the ministerial of the International Transport Forum (ITF), which was held in Leipzig, Germany. In his speech, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation with the European Union in the field of transport.
More than 1100 representatives of more than 60 countries are participating in the ministerial. The main theme of this year's summit is: Greening Transport: Keeping Focus in Times of Crisis.
The Deputy Minister briefed the participants of the ministerial meeting on Georgia's position on the geographical expansion of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (EICMT) multilateral quotas, which is a crucial step for deepening global cooperation, promoting economic growth and innovation in the transport sector. According to Guram Guramishvili, it is important that more transport companies registered in Georgia have the opportunity to transport cargo on the territory of the European Union.
Within the framework of the ITF ministerial, the Deputy Minister held bilateral meetings with both governmental and transport and logistics business representatives.
