The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Irakli Nadareishvili took part in the official opening of the Digital Transformation Forum Georgia. The event will last 4 days in Tbilisi; it is organized by the Georgian ICT Cluster with the support of the USAID Economic Security Program.
In his welcoming speech, the Deputy Minister focused on the decisions made in the direction of inclusive digital transformation of Georgia.
"Inclusive digital transformation means ensuring equal access to the benefits and opportunities that digital technologies bring to all segments of society. It gives us the opportunity to seize the potential of the Georgian innovative ecosystem and ensure sustainable economic growth. The priority of the Georgian government is to shift more emphasis to the development of the digital ecosystem in the regions, so that more people can benefit from government digital services. Among them are land registration based on blockchain technology, remote services related to business, electronic tax procedures and others. "We are creating an environment for the startups of the future and preparing individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary for a digital age full of challenges and opportunities. For this, we focus more on training more specialists in the professions of the future.
About 250 start-ups funded by the grant programs of Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency have attracted more than 300 million private investments," Irakli Nadareishvili said.
According to him, the ecosystem should be open to facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing and exchange of ideas among various stakeholders.
Partners of the forum are the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Parliamentary Committee on Sectoral Economics and Economic Policy, the National Communications Commission of Georgia, the National Bank of Georgia, the Vocational Skills Agency of Georgia, the Georgian Information and Technology Analysis Center, the Ilia State University and Crowdfunding Association of Georgia.
