"The last stage of works is underway in Bakuriani in order to properly host the European and World Cups at our resort. It is very gratifying that we have already received very high marks for the preparations made by the Georgian government in Bakuriani - we have arranged new skating rinks, a new ropeway and an artificial snowing system," - Mariam Kvrivishvili said.
The European Cup stages will be held in Bakuriani on February 19-20 under the auspices of the International Ski Federation (FIS), and the World Cup stages will be held on March 3-6. The European Cup stages include the Parallel Giant Slalom discipline, while the World Cup stages – slopestyle. In total, the resort will be visited by up to 200 athletes from 40 countries worldwide (Austria, Australia, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Poland, etc.).
As Mariam Kvrivishvili stated, according to the delegates of the International Ski Federation, Georgia has very well fulfilled its obligations and responsibilities, which include infrastructural readiness for the European and World Cups.
