The Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani participated in the 25th session of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, held at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
According to the Ministry of Defense's press office, the meeting was attended by senior defense officials and high-ranking representatives from nations supporting Ukraine.
The session was inaugurated by the U.S. Secretary of Defense. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, alongside Secretary Lloyd Austin, addressed the gathering, providing an assessment of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and emphasizing the urgent and long-term requirements for coordinated military support. During the meeting, Secretary Austin outlined the forthcoming assistance package for Ukraine and noted that this would mark his final participation in the Contact Group's proceedings.
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group, established in April 2022 at the initiative of the United States, comprises over 50 countries committed to supporting Ukraine in its defense efforts, as stated in the Ministry's announcement.
